after a year of planning, I'm finally getting started on my greenhouse project. Yesterday I took all my junk out of the shed and organized things, tossed some out, and got it all put back in.
BTW - this is not all of it, and only from half the shed. It's actually two buildings, or one older building that was extended out in the late 50's. I don't know how old the first part is. The cement in that section is all busted up.
The greenhouse will be in the end, basically from the open door to the east (your right) in the picture. That area is about 8' wide. It will back about the peak of the roof line.
Here is the inside, finally cleaned out.
And the windows I saved from the house, almost all of the storm windows are the glass sections. I don't know for sure what I'll do with them . . . the others are double panes.
Here is the other end. You can see into the older section of the building from here. About a year ago, I bought a whole bunch of seed trays and plastic plant containers and assorted pots. Was a pickup bed full - all for $4. I don't think I'll need any of those for years and years. Notice the water hydrant - that is the best part!
The floor in this section is in very good shape, and it's over 50 years old.
The plan is to build the wall to section off the greenhouse, and then open up the exterior to convert to plastic/glass. I had a greenhouse in MN, and one in WI so I'm looking forward to finally having one here in SD.
I probably won't have time to do much on this project except on the weekend, but I'll update as things get moving. The goal is to have it all ready before spring.
