Whats even better is it blooms within 2 years .. The pink ones are pretty .. even tho I am anti pink I don't know that I have one pink flower in my whole garden

I have tried this before so I know it works. Go to a craft store and buy the decorative lotus pods they sell. Remove some of the seeds and score the rounder end with sandpaper. Plop into water and after a few days the seed should sprout. I don't know if that is what you asked, but you can get lotus plants for your pond that way, so it may be of some interest to some folks on this list.
DUH why didn't I think of that?? Found this little tidbit as well .. I am going to check it this week

I am going to call around and just see if we have anything like that, here in Canada...
Yes, I knew that Nelumbo seeds were edible - the leaves are too. Tribes used to use the leaves as plates, even!
