You will really need a ph meter and a dissolved solids meter to get it right.
Im thinking the aquaponics with fish water feeding the plants is the way to do this, though I havent tried yet.Seems get number of fish right and water testing wouldnt be an issue.
Mrs has been pushing for a greenhouse,Im inclined to think she is right, that would be a good setup for aquaponics system in a portion.

Yes,we do get crazy busy this time of year, but would we really want it any other way? To your son on getting you a system :)Good boy! Hubby's are great for these projects too!! Could not do half of what I do with out my kids and my hubby I'm exited about this project for our family ,been wanting to learn about this for a long while and feeling better just gave me the motivation to ,"JUST DO IT!". A school here in Florida was given a $3,500 grant to study hydroponics's V ground growing and so far there has been much more production from the hydroponics's. I want to grow in a green house year around to get through the month or so of freezes.

I just found out today that the lettuce I love and buy at the all year farmers market is grown in a hydroponic greenhouse. Best lettuce in the world.
