Kniphofia--Red hot pokers. There's diff varities of these. Im pretty sure I have the Royal standard, or The Rocket, or Springtime. All have the red on top n yellow/orange at the bottom of the flower.I could google to find out but im happy just calling them redhotpokers Theres others varities that all one color,pink, yellow,orange,or red. anyone grow these in the single colors?

Around here, Monroe, NC, I only see the kind you have in the picture. They grow like a weed in our field. I like the way you have them in an edged area.

yep your right Sherri. grown in a warmer climate they would get out of control. kinda like yacca's or pampas grass, but in a colder climate our winters keep them under controll pretty good. one mans weed is another mans flower haha ;D

I have some of those same ones too. I can see how they'd get out of control in a warmer climate than the NE. I call them torch lilies, or red hot pokers.

Nice photo for sure. I don't have any of those. I don't think I have ever seen any. I will be looking for some now though. Maybe order some on the internet. CF
