And is that a raised bed? think I see a brick under your rock ? could be a rock under a rock. anyho good idea. I use to have daffs growing around a tree. till I dug them up to divide and ended up diging into the tree roots looks so pretty but wasn't a good idea. raised beds around a tree is a good idea

Thanks Christy! I appreciate that. I guess it's "sort" of a raised bed. It's actually all rock. I "borrowed" them from my in-laws (with their permission). They live in the mountains of Tenn. When we go visit, I usually bring a load back in the mini-van. Can you say "Low-Ri-Der?" Those rocks do a great job of keeping the soil in too. I've also got them in my flower beds in front of the house - right where the rain comes down. They really help disperse the water evenly.

Rocks work dandy as edging for raised beds as your photo shows so well. Go lightly with the string trimmer...
