I haven't been able to have chickens in awhile cuz something would always get them not matter what I did. So a friend of mine in Florida gave me 3 hens and a rooster that he said were wild and slept way up high in the trees and they would be perfect for me. But something (I think a stray cat (very large one) has killed 2 of the hens. So now I'm down to the rooster and 1 hen. Well today while out in the back yard I heard chirps, and lots of them. So I followed the sounds and lo and behold about 10-11 baby chicks had hatched out. Now to keep them alive, cuz the momma won't come near me. So gonna have to tame the babies as best I can. Wish I had a pic for ya, but no camera. Don't know if my phone camera pics can be transfered to here.

Trudy, that is super cool. I want some chickens so bad. Just with the joys of living in the country, lots of things like chicken. CF
