Hello all....my name is Mogarden and I have slugs. Lots of them. Since changing my garden to a collection of containers I have been applying Slug bait pellets around on the ground in the immediate area with sorta good results. I was looking thru a catalog of musical stuff and found some copper tape in various widths starting with 1/4 inch. It's sticky on the back, so assuming it will stay stuck thru the weather, how wide does copper need to be before slugs will not cross it? Anybody know or want to guess? There is a difference in cost, as you might assume. I want to go cheap but get the right width for good results. I am thinking just clean the pot outside and dry it off. Apply the tape in a strip around the side near the top. What do y'all think? Here's a link: www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Supplies:_Shielding/Conductive_Copper_Tape.html?actn=100101&xst=3&xsr=274

I would imagine even a small strip would work .. www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=stained+glass+copper+foil&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=6833380688&hvpos=1t2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=562687160842569754&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&ref=pd_sl_1m2dngribs_e

Thanks Rita, they do use it for stained glass now, I should compare. I guess I'll flatten out a copper wire and catch a wild slug (If I'm fast enough, lol) and do a little testing. ETA: now I'm getting a "page not found" at stewmac. If you type "copper tape" in the search box it'll come up, sorry.

I really enjoyed it .. and I still have all the equipment for it I have several rolls of the copper tape .. I actually think it may be a stronger adhesive then the other stuff ..
