Some big some small.. Depends on how big you make your triangles The purple ones were my 1st ones.. made with paper that was thicker and I made the triangle too long, so it made them a lil thick ... Live and learn huh? I have alot of them drying it is a bit of a slow process, maby because Iwas always interrupted ?? But It is fun to do. It would be fun to have teens learn it ... I think My 15 year old grand daughter is going to learn this!!

MAke marks on your paper all the same space apart 1/2 inch 1/4 inch ... I'd try the bigger ones 1st ...MAke sure you mark it on the side you don't want ...It was hard to see the marks so after I marked it I made the lines ... You cut off and throw away the first lil triangle .. They don't work out right ..... then cut the rest out like so

Last inch or so put a bit of glue on the end ... Do not over load it because it will squeeze out ... Finish rolling it out .. try not to get glue on the toothpick only because you don't want to glue the bead on the tooth pick And there ya have it :

Ok now you could lay it on a table or something but after you varnish it you will need a spot to stick the stick into for drying , I'd show you my spot but it is a big mess But I have a 12 by 12 inch ceramic tile setting on top i=of my 12 by 12 table and I shove the tooth pick between the two ... Looks kinda cook actually so later I may clean it up and take a pic I let them dry and I put another coat of varnish on them .. so that makes them stronger and shiny Let me know what ya think? Ok off to clean my spot so I can show you how I dry them I did read somewhere that if your in a hurry you can use your blow dryer to help the drying process!! My thing is if you have a magazine and alot of pages the first ones will be dry by the time you get done with the last one on the 1st page, it takes longer for the Varnish to dry .. If you really are in a hurry you can use a blow dryer I'll try and find the youtube I used ...

Now the story on my table I have this lil 12"X12" cherry table next to my chair , the top was ruined by water because it used to have a plant on it, well I thought.. hmmmmm what can I do? so I put a 12"X12" ceramic tile on it .. I was always going to mosaic it but never got arountoit he he he ... but I was in N.C. and you tube showed me the penny Mosaic, So the day after I cam home I really wanted to try it on something , so off came the ceramic tile on my table and on went the pennys... I painted the top black 1st ... so here it is ... I put my bills in there so they are out of the way.. thats the paper you see They were all glued down then I put two coats of the protective finish over top ... So ok theres my table THen I needed someplace to stick my tooth picks soI put the ceramic tile back on over the pennys Any hoo

AS I kid I made those beads. Mom had too I guess. Kid I did not varnish but just glued them. No boughten glue and used corn starch paste as that is better that flour paste as it is cooked.
Here some years back great niece made me a necklace of paper clips and contac paper. Turquoise looking paper and I had a woman ask me what the necklace was a made of and told her and she was really embrassesd as she had though stone.
They were making necklaces of small gold colored safety pins and beads. Some made seed beed necklaces and I do not know how but great looking. No frame needed. I do have the frames for belts and necklaces. I know how to bead them. I had a litle job with a guy in his shop for a few weeks and mom got me fired. I was beading and could watch the shop and I can remember finishing up his sign. Dad got me the job.
Pony beads they were just string in leather throng. I have strung heshi and turquoise and silver beads and that kind of stuff. I have crocheted beads and with gold or silver thread. As a teen I also made some sure sequin pins and earrings. I even made some oil shale jewelry. I wanted to try porcupine quills and bought the book on that. When out with my nephew he helped me get some. We found a dead one and you do serlize them anyway I found out. I have seen pincone jewelry. But do not know how they soldify the cones to slice them. I told my son that time to do painted rock necklaces and he said no one would wear that and I told do it. He made a lot of money off that. I have made some too. I can paint but not watger color. I signed up for a week's class in it and couple weeks before I was too go an "act of god" burnt the campus down so I did not get to go. I had take the time off work and all. I never did get a chance to learn. Now I can get no where to do anything. I had bought some paint and paper and stuff to take. Then the class was too high. Now like $600 or more and not driving I can not get to it. Paint dried up and I should go through toss it all out as have no use for it. I paint with oil and acrylic but use like oils. I droped the box of charcoal and it busted all to pieces. Alot of stuff now no good. Acrylic some dried up and I tossed. Guess unopen tube still okay.
I had really planned to run a shop in retirement. County ended that taking my building. Then my vision. I always like making things.

So the county took your building? Wow how sad , sounds like you do some great stuff Colorado I wish I could sit beside you just watching and learning.....I remember rock jewelry People still wear it.. I am right now tryin to find some turquoise colored paper so I can make beads that look turquoise ... Today I am going to use my stained glass pens, I found a clear wine bottle and I am going to make a design on it and then make a light out of it ..... I just LOVE to do crafts!! I wish I knew of more things to do!! I use youtube alot because I learn from watching .... (darn A.D.D.) I have to sometimes watch it over and over .... These lil beads when all done sound like glass when dropped on a hard surface they are hard so therefore will last longer, the clear finish also makes them water resistant not water proof ... I can be happy setting here making them all day ... I just love them!! I have got them in an ink bottle Dave found outside they look wonderful! When I get the bottle full I will post them It is about half way now hehehe.... Thanks Colorado If you don't mind me asking .. Why the change of name?

I was I guess not doing it right and could requister and finaly did a new one. Got two d in some how. Phil can change it back if he wants.
One winter I made a lot of shopping bags of upoltery and drapery rements. My older son has them in the book store. Had to get rid of that and I find I still have more drapery samples to use up. Some were patch work from samples. I made over a 100. So when he came up top down home and both sons cut weeds I gave him some more bags. First ones he paid me. And he asked me for some sandstones to paint on. Was in the yard and said he could have and got him a box. He will paint them and sell in his book store and such. So to him those pieces of rock were worth money. I gave both sons gas money. He paints and sells. More of his time is spent writing I would guess. How he makes his living.
Rath my eye sight will let me do small things I do not know. Eye Dr changed the vision in my good eye. I was so near sighted. But I can still read with the eye with out glasses so still somewhat near sighted I guess. But not like I was.
I have tumbled dessert glass and made necklaces and earring. Purple glass. Shells I used long kind and rimmed the hole with gold paint and glued in a pearl bead. I had been doing mostly jewelry till the bust in 80"s here and then I went to dolls and then doll clothes. People will buy gifts at Xmas time the best.
Is your shop open this winter? I have oil bottles I saved that look like qt wine bottles. Not here and neither are my rocks to paint. Just a few and some buckles to paint. I have a carved bone necklace from ? It is pieces and fastened just with thread in holes. Dyed and from one of those poor counties. They make jewelry from deer horn. Tips for bolos and they saw flat pieces and I have a pair of earring they made. I bought deer horn slices from a elderly guy for 10 cents each. Little thick but willl work. Need polishing and sealed to paint on. Elk horn basess they carve and make belt buckles. Wood I have seen on belt buckles. Make sure it dried good and not green. I bought soeat thrift shop. Varish was cracking. On the slant.
I have not been in a craft for long time. But they did sell wooden flat cutouts you could make things with. They sell all kind of stuff. Or did. Costs. Some is not too bad. You are getting better prices there then where I was. I have sandstones at my cabin and getting harder to get but I have it. I wish I had good picture sandstone. What few I found were not great but I sawed and used a few to see. Yes, rock saw, and tumbers I have. Softer stone I can carve like turquoise . Have flex shaft and bits for that.
You want me to keep on?
