First one is of one Iris that came up for us! Pic # 2 is a water funnel that was several miles away. More to be added in time!

Iris has always been one of my favorite flowers too. I like the low-maintenance side of them. Along with daffodils and daylillies, they need only a little weeding and very little else besides rainfall. Being a guy and more into veg growing, I can have a few perennials like these and enjoy the colors without taking up a lotta time with 'em.

Good gracious. Those are some big carrots. Yes she sure grows em' big.. we have what used to be Oak Savanna here..now that all the trees have been removed..what is left is clay-ey soil..except our garden areas which although have some clay..they don't have much..plus I been adding organic matter to it for the last 15 years.. I till the soil at least 8" deep, then build a raised bed over that..for a depth of 16" a lot of Laura's carrots..go the 16", then form a lil HOOK...making simply PULLING CARROTS.. a tator fork/shovel event ... what I can't get over is that although BIG..they are so sweet and crisp..
