I bought Ruth a Nook reader about a month ago, and since we have purchased a few books to read on it. It's like the Kindle and measures about 7" by 5" much lighter then a book and the screen is easy on the eyes. We have already read one book and more then half threw another. If ya like reading books I would recommend it. Pricing is between $119 to $159 for readers and $200 to $300 for more features like TV Moves Games. The one we own was $150.

Can you get on regular internet programs like the phorums or facebook or do your email on them? I want something small I can do that with. I dont want an I phone because here they require you to buy a plan that costs $85, I want something I can get on my wireless with.

You can go to there sites and choose what ever suits your needs. Keep in mind the more you want them to do the higher the price. I think the price range for what you want can range from $150.00 to $300.00. I haven't had the time yet to work with our new nook so I will see if I can get on the OPP site.

I have the Kindle 3G where I can download books without hooking up to a computer but I can't access the internet. I would need Kindle Fire for that.

The cost was $159.00+Tax. You can download pictures and add a memory card. It's a nice device, but shop around and read about both Kindle and the NOOK. Good luck!

Spuds: I'm not quite sure about e-mail yet....I'm still learning it myself, I'm a little slow when it comes to tech stuff, I would rather experiment then read at times. Only because that tech mumbo jumbo doesn't sink in that well

She keeps saying she will but when we're talking about it I don't have it with me. Now I don't work with her so I'm going to remember to take it with me when we go out somewhere together. Call and remind me please.

Yes; I have learned that I can go on the internet also and google serch for the area I am in to look up restaurants and other local points of interest, there is much much more and I am learning every day. You can also go to face book on there, I'm just not interested in that.I'm discovering new apps. every time I use it.

I watch young girls that are driving here on there phones and doing makeup at the same time,I just back off and give them plenty of room. Sorry but I'm old school and feel a cell phone is for emergency,or while in the store to ask if I've got the right groceries...but not while driving. As far as malty tasking,Ill leave it to the younger generations.
Bestofour: So far I like the new nook, and I have read three books in the last month with it. It certainly is nice and compact for traveling and while waiting in an doctors office.

I to believe that you should NOT be talking on the phone or texting or putting on make up or reading anything while driving!! It is not just young girls jerseycub it is a generation, It may be the young girls putting on make up or doing their hair while driving But when Dave and I are driving up north , we can tell by the way someone is driving if they are on the phone , at least we are right 90 % of the time sometimes they are reaching for something or just screwing around. I take my phone with me when I go some where, I have it setting on the seat beside me so I can see who calls if it is someone important I pull over if possible, and talk or I will just call them back at a better time. I do not talk on the phone and drive. It takes a second to end a life or ruin one. I have a friend that lost his girlfriend to texting and driving. Very sad. I know someone eles that lost their daughter to Texting and driving. There is nothing that important to text while I am driving.
I do like my phone in the Dr.s office!! I can get on the web! I can get on FB. Play my lil zoo game. Better than watching the clock! Thats for sure!!
