Jerseycub to Spuds....
Spuds you ever have Abalonie.....I know it's not spelled correctly, but I'm sure you know what I meant.

Spuds replies.....
Abalone,OMG YES!!! Used to eat em chopped on half shell in Mexico, now thats a major treat, havent had or seen in decades.Growing up we went to Mexico a lot, love their food with a passion still.
Oysters,OMG,eat em all the time, tho mostly canned things they still make great oyster stew, yumm!
Ever had ceviche, sea food 'cooked' in lemon juice,oh but that is good.
Retiring to Mexico a big thought here, dont want to give up here,or the change, yet with social security alone can afford to live on beach there and eat clams even.I could live in a garage sized block home with a courtyard to expand living space and fruit trees and garden and be very content. "Hola Spuds, que tal, como esta?"
Hey,I even have enough solar cells to fully power easily a house down there, cool!

I can see living in a hut and making a trip to the shore for food

Well Spuds sounds like you have the plan. Only thing it is a shame we have to move to Mexico to enjoy our life instead of here where we were born and worked all our life, and the Mexicans are coming here in droves enjoying all the benefits we worked so hard to achieve.....although none of us take advantage of.
Guess I should have crow on the menu today

Very interesting chilefarmer: We certainly can learn a lot from the various types of construction, that's for sure. Also the foods is very good. The thing I have to be concerned about is my medical care and moving to a different country would be difficult in my case....but I can see how that may be attractive to a younger healthier person.
