That is cool. Have to ask though these are duck eggs not chicken eggs.. so what is the difference in I guess taste and the way you raise them?

Just need enough water for them to clean themselves in.Duck eggs are sweeter than chicken and have bigger/richer yolks.Excellent for baking, yumm for frying too.

Ducks stopped laying in December, today 2 out of three left an egg, very cool. Rather interesting regarding bird feed. We all KNOW we have to have "HIGH PROTEIN" food for them to lay. Surprisingly, the birds have been eating veggie trimmings, pulp, and boiled veg from broth. And low and behold, they are laying.OK,Duck might miss a day here and there, but even Tina the chicken, old as she is is laying 4 a week, and a bubblehead laid one the other day. Sooooo....been spending on my veggies, but Ive completely stopped the bird feed. And that stuff isnt cheep (get it,cheep?) I think we are being sold a bill of goods on commercial feed, seems to me it isnt anything but the bare minimum to keep em going. Interesting, the birds spend their entire days eating, works for me,they dont need to slam down pellets and laze around all day.

I was just reading the other day that most people eat alot more protein than they need. So I am sure that goes for Poultry as well. I know there is some protein in veggies. It's probably enuf for them to lay. I think the American Diet for any animal is a bunch of crap! It's more about less work and more money in their pockets!

We have 4 chickens left, and 2 ducks.Of the chickens Tina and Tommy have both been laying, and both ducks Daffy and Thelma are laying, tho one duck hasnt laid in a few days since we redid the duck cage.Tina is laying in a half filled yard waste trash can....one day both dogs were standing on their hind legs looking in....good for Tina, they cant steal her eggs.Talk of a Kodak moment missed!Got 18 eggs this week, that'll work. They must have heard I made arrangements to buy eggs from Joanie, they got the message,LOL!
