I just gave my Ariens snow blower to my son yesterday,it was only used for one season...in other words like new. He got it started with little effort but it would not propel itself very well,it would just creep in high. He took it home and researched it on the net and found out it is an inherent problem with the Ariens that they had to correct some years later, they didn't contact me and say we need to repair our goof up instead they just waited to see who would complain. My machine was sitting for years in the barn doing nothing so I really didn't know much. Now my son has to go crazy to see if he can get this machine repaired without it costing him a bundle of money.
This really pisses me off that this company would do such a thing with no regard to the consumer. Ariens gets a big fat F. I wanted to let everyone know this so they don't make the same mistake.

Wow, they used to make some of the best on the market. That's true bro,but so did a lot of other companies like John Deere,GE,and Huskvarna. to name a few. They all make now. To top things off they will try to deny there is a problem. Anthony is calling Airens today to see what they will do to fix the problem. We will see.

It's too bad they don't stand by their product. What exactly is the goof so we can tell all ariens owners? XdX it's in the belt drive system. They constantly need to be adjusted after use and eventually have to be replaced, like two to three times per season,if you get a lot of snow maybe more. My son found the post on the problem and told me, I would have to find out what site he was on. Anthony is calling Ariens today to see what they will do about it,as soon as I find out Ill post it here. I think it may have something to do with the belt tentioner system. Buy the way that is on the Model 824 year 2001-2002

YES they are at my local farm store its all they carry in the line of power equipment Good news! My son Anthony finally spoke to a manager at Ariens and they sent everything that is needed to repair and correct the problem....NO CHARGE!! So they did back there product. The first person Anthony spoke to was a real AH and didn't want to hear a thing, that's when Anthony said let me speak to your supervisor,he had to leave a message but the supervisor got back to him and said he would take care of everything, and he did. The parts came here the other day so Anthony can repair the machine.

Well he got a $750.00 machine for nothing so he can wrench on it a little, he is a strong man I'm sure he can handle it.

Same here, we have an Ariens and we've had it out far more this year then in the 2 years that we've had it. Heck even my Toro for the deck is getting a work out. Glad your son got the parts he needed too, JC.

It's a very well built machine, just had a design flaw that needed fixing...seams that was the only model with that problem. That was Ariens first attempt to make a homeowner model and they cheapened the clutch and trans. This kit brings it back up to speck with there commercial line. That machine will throw snow 40 feet or better.
