may havta resort to this... They told Us that we could only buy 200 EXPENSIVE gallons... We were worried about getting more if the 200 didn't last the winter (and we gots a new gas range) Laura called..no, there's not a shortage now (1 week later) so..we just got GOUGED...somebeaches

I actually made one of these to see how it would work It DID stay hot and all that.. I used a glass pan tho so it wasn't as HOT as it could be because glass absorbs a lot of heat .. Also you can buy or make a better candle for this that lasts a lot longer ...

I seen this one too .. I was going to buy a small can and test it myself to see how long it actually burned .. I don't trust a lot of the video's .. I am also wondering if it would be a safer idea to transfer the crisco to a used candle jar instead

Yes I was kinda shocked she was going to let that candle burn the whole time. Can you say "I can't sleep" LOL I was glad to see the guy blew it out. Interesting idea tho. We have oil lamps so I have no need to do that. That would be something I'd forget then remember once the electric came back on LOL<--serious!

I saw a guy melt the crisco and put it in a cake pan with 5 wicks for his heater...that should work good.

I didn't bookmark the site I stumbled upon but it kept posting more odd videos that I ended up in timbucktoo on my computer .. wonder if the crisco would last longer than the tealight candles experiment for another day .. gotta buy one of those tiny breadpans
