I'm planning on a bumper crop of blueberries this year (hope springs eternal) and I'm going to try making jam. The recipes I've seen call for a water bath canner. Is this true? Do I need to buy a water bath canner?

I've got a big stock pot. I'll have to find me a rack.

We have used small stock pot for smaller batches..and when we do, and Don't...have a rack...we use canning jar rings for an "improvised" rack... a wire coat hanger bent inro a coil will work too...
Also..RESALE shops...we were poking through the local shop and found a pile of wire racks..one, that would fit one of our smaller pots... it was 50ยข

I picked the blueberries but went the water bath route instead. It's so good.
