I nominate my sandwich maker ! Given to me for Christmas years ago. Sounded like good idea.Used it twice.Cluttered the counter, a b***h to clean and I can make a better grilled sandwich in my skillet. Every yard sale and thrift store I go has em sitting around so I know I'm not the only one who doesn't like em. I can't even GIVE mine away. What useless junk have you got stuck with ?

I have a tupperwear thing, can't remember what's it called, but it's oven proof to 400°, IF you use the recipes that come with the container. I can make sort of a cake, a roast if I first microwave it in a different dish, bake it for a few minutes, then transfer it to the tupperwear thing. Why?

I think mine is the George Forman Grill! It is something eles that sets. I just use a cast iron skillet I cook my steak I don't dump all the fat on top my steak and eat it. I put that on my baked potato! I don't need a extra gadget to wash. Its easier to wash a cast iron skillet!

I agree w8in. Over the years we've been given several George Forman's and I've given them away or taken them to Good Will. I'd rather use a pan because I can cook more than the meat in the same pan.

I like the foreman grill, but a bear to clean. If I ever find one at thrift with removable grills,Im getting it.As it is,one I have just too hard to clean IMO.So it doesnt get used, but makes a nice rare cut and sucks out the grease.

Yea I just don't have the counter space for gadgets, If I had a nice big kitchen with alot of space that would be different. I like the way the george foreman cooks but hate the clean up. W8! I hate clean up period! LOL

I am thinking the ricer is the least used item that I have. I really don't ever remember using it. I have had it at least 40 years. I do however know right where it is just in case I need it.CF

I like my foreman grill too, mostly for bacon wrapped hot dogs. but yes it is a pain to clean. I'd say my garlic press is the most useless. I don't even know if I still have it.

Funny story lol: I went to my step daughters house and was cutting some of my smoked cheese, I didn't take my cheese cutter , so she handed me a knife, I said after a while ... I'm sorry this is taking so long , I'm used to using a wire to cut cheese. She whipped out a cheese cutting wire and said "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't think about this thing , I don't know how to use it. I think she said it was a gift, and it has been setting in her drawer she tried to use it a couple times and well ... she just didn't know. Till I went in there and whipped out slices of cheese. She said OMG! How easy is that!! I love it! I never knew! I said yea see how much easier it is to just slice thru that? Best thing in my gadget drawer!

I waste a lot less potato with the peeler. Also use it to shred cheese and carrots to put in coleslaw.

Mike, you are so right about the wasting. I used it again today for potatoes and carrots. Thanks for starting this thread.

I waste a lot less potato with the peeler. Also use it to shred cheese and carrots to put in coleslaw. If I do decide to peel my potatoes or carrots (I usually scrub and chunk them) I use a peeler. My mom told me all the vitamins are close to the peel. So if you use a knife your cutting away all the vitamins. Don't know how true it is. But I listen to my mom Bless her soul!

Ive heard that too.Its a choice for us of the lost nutrition vrs the elimination of the chemicals on the surface,so often I peel, should probably peel all the veggies and fruits I possibly can.Too many cancers to make me want to risk any chemicals I can reasonably avoid?

Used mine yesterday to make Sous Vide chicken breasts, boneless, skinless.Put in bag at 140F water temp(using the Dorkfood temp controller) for 2 hours and had the moistest breasts weve ever eaten. Also did a chuck roast with salt/pepper and Tatonka dust for 6 hours at 140,came out tender, perfectly medium rare thru the whole 2? inch meat, boy did it turn out great! Been snacking on that for a couple days.Dont panic on temps, its a time vrs temp relationship with SV cooking so longer times at a lower full thickness temp makes it safe. So since the dorkfood that has put the crock pot into a more useful category. They had a metal round coffee pot electric with the spigot on it,shoulda bought it for SV,missed it,dummy.Be perfect for dropping those meat packets into

Try this, scrub tater, vertical slices, paint with olive oil all over and between slices and bake in oven or BBQ,man are they good! I paint em once or twice more as they cook.Kinda like a cross between a baked tater and a potato chip, and they cook faster too.Pretty much how I do em all now.Healthy too (Pretty much)! Good pics at link.... www.instructables.com/id/sliced-baked-potato/
