Doctor at Bryan er seems to want to write me off!

Below is a post of mine from FB . This has family and friends mad as a hornet.

BTW a certain Bryan doctor recommended I talk to a primary care doctor about Hospice in the near future . I tell you what I may have bad days but not so bad I am ready to roll over and die . And I want to be around at least another 45 years thank you very much and have a nice day doc .

I just don't know what else to say.

Just a shot in the dark but maybe the doctor thought you could use the services of a case manager, therapist or counselor or a part of hospice services and not all of them. I say this because a friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer she decided not to treat, she was 94 years old. She lived a month shy of her 100th birthday and her mind was sharp as could be but she had started falling and having issues that to me were age related rather than cancer related. None of us were sure if the cancer killed her or advanced age killed her. Anyway, she had hospice services for a good part of those years as far as a once in a while visiting nurse and I don't know what all. So if a person has what is considered a terminal illness I think Hospice might be of some help. Your doctor could have and certainly should have explained it so you were clear on what he meant. He was just plain rude.

Oh trust me that doctor has the reputation of getting an F in sensitivity and tact. Definitely not diplomatic.
