is there anything i can put into the soil this fall to rid myself of those darn vine borers?

Not that I know of. The thing is to watch the base of your vines real close after you plant them out. BT will help, keep it on the lower 6-8 inches of the vine, re-apply after rain or watering washes it away.

as stated above, it's the first few inches above the ground that the borers are gunnin for, I use small pieces of salvaged reemay to cover the stem at that point (clear up to the first set of leaves) others use panty hose..but I ain't got any of those
