i remember like it was yesterday, i was watching the news, bryant Gumble was reporting about the first plane, when the second plane hit... i wanted to rush to the school and get my kids, when i finally did go outside there was an eerie silence, no airplane engines, no vapor trails.. the weather was beautiful here that day, i remember thinking, "how could anything so tragic happen on a day such as this... " when i finally did go up town, the grocery store was packed and, there was a line of cars at the gas pumps that stretched across town..... seemed like all 500 people in our little town were stocking up..

It was truly a tragic day that I think none of us will forget...I was at work that day, and spoke with my hubby and each of the kids to make sure everyone was OK~it was scary, my husband's brother in law was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army at the time and traveled to the Pentagon about every other week. We didn't know where he was and couldn't contact my hubby's sister to find out til late in the day. He wasn't there, thank God. Also, hubby's niece and nephew both work in Manhatten, and we couldn't contact them either. It was so scarey. We are lucky, everyone is OK. Also, at the time, my brother's two sons were both in the Military, one in the National Guard, the other in the Navy stationed on one of the ships that had just been deployed to the Gulf region a week earlier. I finally cried when I called my SIL that afternoon on the way home from work. What a horrific day... God Bless the USA!!!!

That was a horrible day. Let none of us forget those who died or the familys left behind. I have a friend that was in the Pentagon at the time of impact, he escaped without injury. But his poor wife waited a day and a half to find out. At least he made it. So many great people were taken that day.

I was stick building trusses 2 floors up in a new housing development, aproximately 10 comtractors in the area, all the sawing, nailing, everything...just Stopped, slowly, but everything stopped, then the cell phones started ringing.... I, for one, didn't know what to do. I let everyone go home, and went there myself. Gas stations were jammed, giving me a very eerie feeling....Your correct XdX, again I weep

I was suposed to go to work. I called in sick for 2 days. It was a terrible time for so many people. I feel for all of them who helped find people, who lost their loved ones. Such a sad day & still sad to think about it now. God Bless everyone who is in the Service now & then.

I was getting ready for work, watching the tube and waiting for the last minute to leave when the first plane hit. At first I thought it was an accident such as non-responsive controls or something but when the second plane hit there was no doubt. I got mad along with the deep sadness that I still feel for the victims and their families. Too many innocent people were called home that day and as for me I will never forget.

I was at work sorting seed corn when I heard about it. I was so shocked at first I thought the person telling me was telling a sick joke. I then realized she isn't the type to do that and also the look on her face told me it was only too real. I remember during our lunch break I found myself walking around saying "oh my oh my oh my" I stayed at work and was glad I was around people as I was restless and wouldn't have known what to do with myself. Later that evening I went to a Church Service that had been arranged by several of the denominations in town. I was 5 yrs old when Pearl Harbor was bombed but I remember that only too well and I knew immediatly we would be in a war. God Bless America and all who serve us in the military and all who lost loved ones 5 yrs ago today.

My youngest daughter and I were at home. She always watched the news to write a report about what was going on in the world.(Homeschooling) we were glued to the TV. I was in shock, it just felt like it was a dream. On Fox News, showed it happening all over again. I think we should see those pictures everyday, I need to see them to remind me....... why we are at war. I cried then and I cried again seeing it happing all over again.

Well folks, as for me, When I met the Caveman, I worked there in Manhattan and Everyday had to take the Train from Jersey City , NJ under water and Into the World Trade. I had worked there for 4 years along with all of my family. we all had to be in the trade centers at one time or another.. But on that day Cavey and I were living here in KY. I have thanked the Lord everyday since then that he Brought me the Caveman. Because if it wasn't for Cavey I would not have been living here in KY at that time. I still would have been in the Subway system that morning, and God know what would have happened to me.. But On that morning Cavey was reinstalling our Widow making a window frame, because he had broke it a few months before.. but that's another story. anyhow, Cavey was calling me in to help him hold the window and I kept telling him wait I'm watching the news and the Trade center is on fire, a big fire.. he kept calling me and telling me I can watch the Dagged old TV Later to get in there and help him, but again I said, No!!! wait a minute, look its a bad fire....! and just when I said that the First Trade Center Colasped...I gasped and said O Sh** Cavey come her look it fell it fell, then the other Colasped.. I fell back in my chair and he came in and said "What the Heck do you mean it Colasped..well he sat down just then and Watched the rest of the news that morning... I was so worried because as far as I knew I still had a sister in law that worked in the centers as well as two of my First cousins.. so I picked up the phone and started to call back home...I never did get through on the phone to anyone that morning because the lines weren't working then. so I got on the Computer and started emailing family.. well the next morning I had gotten responses from one cousin and my sister in law stating they didn't worked in the trade anymore, So I had a big relief lifted there... but my one cousin still no word from and neither had any of my other family members... turns out she was late for work that morning and her Girlfriend told her she would take her to the Subway in Jersey City for her connection to the Trade center.. well as she got out of the car in Jersey City she looked up and her friend said Your Building is onfire, thats when they seen the rest happend.. My cousin had went into shock and was taking to the hospital .. She had lost 84 coworkers that morning... and if it wasn't for her Alarm clock not going off, she would have been in there also.. Till this day we all thank God for him not letting that alarm clock go off.. she was truly blessed that day.. but so many others lost their lives. we had so many old friends that worked and traveled through there. my family still remembers the tragedy like yesterday... We all send out prayers every 9/11, across the internet for everyone that was lost.. We pray everyday that this doesn't happen again and hope we will be ready for anything like this if it should happen again... Here is what we post every year.. 0NE 0F THE M0ST TRAGiC M0MENTS 0UR C0UNTRY HAS EVER EXPiERiENCED. TODAY IS [glow=red,2,300]SEPTEMBER 11[/glow]. PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO REMEMBER ALL THE POLICE, FIREMAN AND EVERYONE THAT DIED THAT DAY.

I too , still cry - but like the Man said "Let's Roll"! Pray that this never happens again, but if it does, I feel that we, as a people, are ready . I will never forget the brave souls who died, and will not let my kids or grandkids forget, either....

Hi,Gang.. I was on my way to my local library hearing to my transister radio. The DJ said, that there was smoke coming from the WTC tower. It was not til I got on the computer, at the library that I found out what happened. Friends asked me if I was ok. I use to live in NY. Long Island in fact. I told them I was fine and asked why they wanted to know. Then someone in this chat room I use to go to, said the second plane hit. I then, turned on my radio and sat there with my jaw to the floor. I called my son, Kenny and I had to hear his voice. Now, it's almost 7 years later and to this day, I will never trust a Moslum as far as I can throw. I would not be surprised if any American feels that way. I took out my late mothers 1931 Bible and read some bible hymms and it helped some.. I'm from Amityville(yes as in the movie) and lost hometown folks in the WTC. May God Bless America for always. Emily

Well I was in college and on my way to class when I heard the news. The first thing that came to my was the same feeling of utter shock I felt when I was in eighth grade and heard that president Kennedy was assinated* and the feeling of helplessness I felt. Nothing had happened in my lifetime like that. Every time I revisit these events makes me teary-eyed. And it is unbelievable how people like Ward Churchill and others in this country can call the victims "little iecmans " and say they deserved what they got. Unfortunately today death and destruction is so commonplace that many are totally callused to it. Even if you don't love this country which lets you dissent as much as you wish common concern for common human beings should cause everyone to have at the least basic sensitivitys but the world is changing fast. God bless America.

I was in 6th grade when Kennedy was killed. All what we grew up to and now have in our adult lives, should not be. Death and destrution SHOULD not be common place. Will "I hate America" Churchill should be shot for the comments he has made. If someone ever had the B***s to do his azz in, I would raise a glass of wine. Knowing that person would pay for it. It's so sad, that we live in the kind of world that we have. God did not have this in His plan. And my niece Kirsten, was in Afghanistan for over a year. Came home in March. I work for Publix Supermarkets, and I have a button with her on it. You have no idea on how many customers ask me about her. And they are mostly of Millitary families like mine. God Bless America for always.
