Ian and I were sitting on the front porch this evening with the binoculars looking at a few deer leaving the safety of the treeline to graze on cut down corn across from our proprty and some swallow type birds were flying around catching bugs. I know they were swallows, BUT...I can't seem to find anything at all on what type they were! They were bigger than barn swallows, but flew like swallows...they had a white band around each wing, you could see when they were flying that it went all the way around the wing and was on the top and the bottom. Anybody have a clue what those birds were called exactly? I don't have them in my bird book, and I googled but found nothing. Thanks! I know one of y'all has seen them....right??? Just one of those things that drive a person nuts! Thanks for any light you can shed on my mystery bird!

If they are much larger than sparrows , they may be common Night Hawks.
