I just bottle fed him this morning with him grunting with contentment When he gets older I may see if Friends of wild life can take him and train him for the wild, but not here You want him song?

Douglas, if you are feeding him the bottle and putting him down for a nap, you are his new mama. That's why he wants to snuggle with you. They are just so cute at that age.

We had one and it was so cute. Someone turned me in and the Fish and Game came and took it away, the kids were screaming and crying, it was awful, and it went to a guy who would eventually kill it, but he had a license !!Around here, you have to have a license to have them. This was years ago, but the memory is very vivid.

it's funny how the DNR will be right there to see if you are doing something wrong, but last year when i had a huge snapping, snapping turtle in my front yard and asked them for help, they were much too busy shoving papers in their fax machine to help me.. i live by the union slough, it's a naturalwild life refuge, of coarse there is a DNR office right smack dab in the middle of if.. so i just drove over there and asked them if they would be so kind as to help me with that turtle..they gave me a phone # for some place 70miles from here..

Doug, Glad to see the little guy is doing well. I am not surprised that no agency will help you out. I've been there too. Unless the word "rabies" is mentioned, they are not concerned. So now, I would only report an animal I can't raise- like a bear cub or a bird of prey.

In Kentucky there is a Wildlife and Rehabilitation Rescue...Maybe they can get you in reach with someone in your state....

Little Rascal is what my dad named the squirrel that he found in infancy and then raised, when I was a kid! Sounds like the perfect name for a baby coon!!!

Aww, he's a happy little coon !Great job, Douglas. I think Rascal is a cute name. I was going to call the last one Trouble, but my friend has a cat with that name. So I named her Ringo- from the book "Ringo, the Robber Raccoon". He was always into something and so is she.
