Let me just say I also have a commercial version of the mandolin and you definitely need gloves...I have sliced off pieces of my fingers more then once with that thing, but it is so great when you have to slice lots of vegetables especially egg plant and zucchini. My favorite gizmo is my saute pans...I love to saute things. My Sheff's knife and granny knife get the most use because I'm constantly pealing garlic and other things and chopping. It's really hard to nail down what is my favorite item in the kitchen because we have so many handy time savers. (ie.) food processor, kitchen aid mixer with all the attachments, meat grinder and sausage cones for making different style sausage, various blenders. I know RICE COOKER!!!

A favorite would be hard to choose, I have so many good gadgets, several Huge stainless pots and a real good, EXTREMELY sharp set of chef knives.. trust me I've lost some skin to em" and they are probably the most used... Now the one "gadget" That is indispensable during harvest...is this old ANTIQUE We use for the Tomatoes.. I can't find a patent number on it, or any info... Here it is..first disassembled..then all together: (yes..it's aluminum...reports of aluminum cooking vessels causing Alzheimers are ...uummm, what was I talking about??)

Now the one "gadget" That is indispensable during harvest...is this old ANTIQUE We use for the Tomatoes.. Oh my gosh!! You have a ricer! Most people see their parts or whole and dont have a clue what it is! I used to sell those when I worked in the hardware store! People would always ask what the heck it is! I love my cast iron pans too Brendajo! Grandma had an old iron fireplace "cauldron" that hung in the fireplace in the kitchen, all the iron tools and frying pans. When she passed away I told mom I wanted them. She said 'you dont know what you want you're too young' And she left them when they sold the house. So what does mom end up buying me for Christmas YeArS later? Cast iron frying pans. I guess I did know what I wanted, huh? Same with the old iron lamps grandma had. {{sigh}}

Yep! I got one too. great for smashed potatoes and making a quick tomato puree for any quick saute.
It's really hard to pin down one special gadget in the kitchen, I know the one that gets the most use in our kitchen is the chefs knife. Probably the next most used would be the saute pan.

Would be a toss up between the Kitchen Aid mixer or the KitchenCenter mixer,both have a lot of attachments.
Next would be the toaster oven,its big enough to do ribs or chicken breasts with baked taters,dont have to heat the big oven,thats NICE!And doesnt take 45 minutes to heat it either.
