Well planting season is around the corner and I have my seed this year waiting to plant. I have more Atlantic Giants and a few others I'm going to try this year. As soon as I finish cleaning around the yard I may juice up the tiller and do up the garden.

This year I'm going broke with the compost, I have "2" hills about a yard wide with "5" inches of compost including a bag of manure going in as well. In a few weeks I will plant my seed and see how it goes from there

Pumpkins are getting the first leaf so it won't be long when they start taking over the garden

Doug, your punkin plants look sooo good. I planted 3 for the first time but the weather's too hot or i havent given them enough compost or whatever or they just don't like me...started out good but are pretty much gowin at a crawl right now...i'll start talkin to them a little more & see if that will help....

They need plenty of water on hot days, it's a battle keeping them going when things get dry

Looking at the sand content of that soil Doug it is easy to tell you're located there in Michigan. It took me back to my childhood in Michigan. Good looking plant.

Day four, baseball size sometimes setting the vine in the right place is difficult, by pointing the pumpkin at a angle and placing the vine on blocks will give it room to expand as it grows. Hubert squash near bowling ball size
