There's still a very large weigh off/festival in Stillwater that Is next weekend, I hope we can go to it... Anamosa Ia. is having theors today, but the weather is wet, and it's not worth the drive to stand in the rain. Austin, Mn. results from last weekend:Pumpkins -- Dave Bhaskaran, 1,227 pounds, Rochester. Watermelon -- D. Bhaskaran, 146.5 pounds, Rochester. Sunflowers -- George Heyne, 24 inches, Rochester. Squash -- James White, 52 pounds. Zucchini -- Samuel and Emma Keenan, 5.5 pounds. Corn -- Brian Akkerman, 121 inches. (Guess I should have saved my Corn fair entry at 139 inches huh)Red Wing Mn. Results: Chad Revier of New London, Minnesota, with a giant gourd weighing 1,428 pounds. ( Revier actually brought one other giant pumpkin which was heavier, coming in at 1,475 pounds, but it had a pin hole in it and was thus disqualified.) Another pumpkin brought by Chris Stevens from New Richmond, Wisconsin, would have been the event record holder at 1,503 lbs. if a mouse hadn't made a home inside his huge pumpkin
