EasterEgg Plant tender annual, can be grown indoors or out.dose not like transplanting. Full sun. bout 12-18in tall. plant bout a foot apart. gets lil purple flowers that last a couple days then wilt n eggs seed pod fourms. Eggs are white n turn golden. Takes bout 4 months to "egg-out" Eggs need to be over ripe to harvest seeds. Indoors, use peatpots to start seeds in. transplant when its 4-5in tall or roots are growing out the peat in 3 gal pots. Outdoors, start seeds indoors in peatpots 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. will bloom late summer to early fall Usally you start seeds in Dec or Jan indoors to have eggs by Easter. ill be late. starting them soon. any one else growing them this year? the first pic im holding a chicken egg by a easter egg,

I have never seen one of those before , it is pretty and neat looking. Besides not liking to be transplanted , are they hard to grow and care for?

I think the Easter egg plant is a solanum, but this year I am growing the Nest Egg gourd. If anybody wants seed, holler in the fall.
