Daffs are divided into divisions according to their flower shape and heritage. ""Note division's 12,13, n 14 may be listed as 12 Miscellaneous"" in some sites.
Division1-TRUMPET one flower per stem, cup at least as long as petals, height is bout 1-1 , 1/2
Division2-LARGE CUP one flower per stem, cup is more than 1/3 the length of the petals, height is 1-2 ft
Division3-SMALL CUP one flower per stem, cup is less than 1/3 the length of the petals. height is bout 1-1,1/2 ft
Division4-DOUBLE more than one ring of petals, cup and petals indistinguishable. height 1-1,1/2 ft
Division5-TRIANDRUS usually several flowers per stem, drooping flowers and slightly reflext petals, height 6in -1,1/2 ft
Division6-CYCLAMINEUS one flower per stem, drooping flowers with long trumpets and strongly reflext petals, height 6in-1ft
Division7-JONQUILLA several flowers per stem, cup shorter than the petals, fragrant, height 6in - 1ft
Division8-TAZETTA several flowers per stem, cup is shorter then petals which are often frilled, very fragrant, height 1,1/2ft, generally to tender for growing outdoors
Division9-POETICUS usually one flower per stem, white petals with a frillied red-edged disc shaped cup, with green or yellow centers , fragrant, height 1,1/2ft
Division10-BULBOCODIUM "Hoop-petticoat " usually bears a single flower per stem. the cup, or corona, is much larger than the petals, so each flower appears to be mostly a cup with a fringe of petals surrounding it. 6-12 inches tall
Division11a-COLLAR "Corona split" - Usually more than half its length,where the cup of the daffodil is split into segments and spreads back against the petals; the corona segments usually in two whorls of three.
Division11b-PAPILLON "Split corona" the corona segments alternate to the perianth segments,the corona segments usually in a single whorl of six.
Division12-OTHER
Division13-Solely by BOTANI All species wild or reputedly wild variants and hybrids. Ones that we refer to as species daffodils and most of which are Heirloom and suitable for restoration gardening.
Division14-MINIATURES various species and hybrids which do not grow taller than 6-8in, dwarf are early flowering
