I like you watering system Joe .. What does the header do? Did you build that set up yourself? Rita: The header is pre- made buy the supplier I just made the frame it is in and the table of course. The header controls the pressure from house pressure down to 7lbs It also has a siphon system were you can divert the flow of water so it can pickup liquid fertilizer (Organic in my case) to feed while you water. You will notice in the second picture I show the drip tape running down the row of tomatoes. You can purchase different size tapes for various applications. Such as spacing between drips and rate of flow. The whole setup is on a auto timer that I have set to come on once a week for four hours, that gives me a little more then an inch of watering with the flow that I have. This system really works well in a large garden for many reasons one in particular is it keeps the water off the foliage and with tomatoes in particular that is very important. The other thing is it uses the minimal in water and gets it were its needed. If you are interested in this system I would be happy to send you a sample of the drip tape and plastic pipe. I did a lot of research before purchasing it and found a distributor near me that is very reasonable. the system is called (Queen Gil)

Rita: No problem, this system will work on a much smaller scale don't get me wrong. It's just that I love the time and effort it saves us.
Google it and let me know what you may be interested in doing it doesn't cost a cent to try a layout on paper and see what it may cost in the future.

We do have lots of room, but we don't utilize all of it as I do like to rotate the crop. If you look at the picture of the row of beans you can see the gate and fence to our other field. I plan on tilling that next season that will give us an additional 7,000sf of garden. That will make our entire garden about 14,000sf. We used to grow cut flowers for the local florist, but it just became to much work for us. We grew Glads, Dalia's, and Lilies. as well as vegetables. Ruth is my only help and she is a real hard worker, I was injured in the military and don't have the legs to stand and walk that much so I'm minimal help, but I keep on pluggin along. I live for the Garden. It's one of the most loved things in my life next to Ruth.
