lol,Ive got a mess and need some advice, hubby and i brush hoged the 240'garden area that before July 8th when i went down was 228 raised, composted dirt, leaved beds.I worked my hindend off literally making those beds. well they are now every kind of thick grass and weed you can imagine!!!! Now i got to figure out how to get it back into garden shape. Would you use buckwheat, winter rye?? or should i put a crop of clover in for a cover crop? sweet annie grows wild here and thats all over in there now!!! won't that tant the flavor of comming crops?? How the heck do you get rid of it organically??? HELP NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M NOT GOING TO EVEN TRY TO PLANT THIS FALL OUT THERE,I'M GOING TO PLOW IT ALL UNDER AND COVER CROP IT TILL SPRING.

I'd say a good thick cover of winter wheat ought to have it looking good and clean when you get it turned over and ready for planting next spring. Some of that undesirable stuff has seed that lasts a zillion years. Good Luck!

A zillon years and beyond!!!! To think of all the sweat that went into that garden,my potassuim leaked out of me at such an alarming rate my Dr. had to put me on 160 mg of potassium HORSE PILLS a day!!!! I had to have my blood drawen every 3 to 5 days for a long while!!!! Now i get to redo it all!!!!!!! The funny thing is,i still CRAVE AND WANT to go back out their and do it all again,i swear I'M ADDICTED TO GARDENING!!!!!! Now back to my 's After i plant the winter wheat and till it under ,anything else i should do??? Last year i planted clover in with the corn ,any advice on that line? The good news is we got it all brush hogged before the seeds had formed on the sweet annie? They call it dog fennel down here,is that the same as sweet annie, smells and looks the same??
