We had just "a tiny splash" of rain yesterday, but we are thankful. The wildfires came within 8 miles of us...everyone here was in a panic, as we went through a firestorm 5 years ago..people were watering down houses and lawns...the fire Dept. asked everyone to curtail watering houses as it was keeping them from filling up their firetrucks faster. Our danger is past now, but still smoke in the air ...you can smell it, taste it, and some have breathing problems, but we are all fine here. Thanks, Phil, for caring....

Down here we have had a realy poor summer but plent rain to keep the grass growing but too cold for much of the garden so no corn harvested at all.
That sure is a lot better than tornadoes and those Texas wild fire though.

Much cooler and more wind than normal, without rain. Not much gonna grow this year. Have spent all on seed and fuel. I haven't much hope. CF

Thanks chilifarmer for posting that pictorial. It gives the members an idea of how bad it really is down here in Texas. This is the 7th year of drought and hopefully the last.
