I would love one!! Hubs says they are very costly and you really , do not save , until a life time just about ..... It would be cool to have one specially during a storm and everyone around you has no electric

I would love one!! Hubs says they are very costly and you really , do not save , until a life time just about ..... It would be cool to have one specially during a storm and everyone around you has no electric They had a big fight about em in Hespeia, because 'they are ugly' The turbines won in Court. Now last year you could see 2 of em,professional types,I can stand there now and see maybe twenty, they are spouting like weeds. The homebuilts, they have their place, but to run a house its either very expensive or seriously re evaluate your usage and get a lot more efficient, then they pay off rather quickly. I prefer solar but the cool part is is when solar isnt working, these are in their element,a combined system is NICE! IF you have the good winds.....

there's been alot of debate about them here Spuds...I like the looks of them, I want one too...I can see though the complaints that some have, I don't know about the health issues, or the sound issues...but we did see one news report that showed a families home that was adjacent to a wind farm...the blades made the sunlight appear as a STROBE effect...in these folks living room...I couldn't deal with that...it looked like someone was turning the lights on and off...but, those particular towers/turbines were the HUGE ones

There's been a lot of debate here on the west Michigan lake shore. "They've" been wanting to put in an off-shore wind farm for a bit now. So far, the arguments have been they're ugly, or they kill birds. The lake Michigan lake shore is pretty big. I'm figuring it would affect a limited number of people if any. As far as the birds go... well.... if you've ever lived in west Michigan and had to contend with those gulls (a.k.a. flying rats) you wouldn't worry too much about losing a few. Not sure though what kinds of other birds they might affect. I'm not concerned about the gulls though. I'm all for it personally. I think they're beautiful. We've got a couple HUGE ones in town - they power a ball park. Quite the site. kinda freaky when you're driving toward them. But beautiful nonetheless. Just my opinion. One of many.
