It is even hot at night. It poured last night and at 5 am this morning it was in the 80's. Garden is looking sad but tons of tomatoes. Planning on a 2nd planting of hot stuff hoping for a long season. Also considering starting some cold stuff inside. Man I wish it would snow.

Maybe I said that wrong. The coolest it was that night was 79, last night was 84. I think it was in the teens today. On a side note. When I read post most of the time I get a visual in my mind of what I perceive the poster to look like. And Rita's avatar is what I see when she posts. It kinda scares me.

Gidday The biggest trouble with the heat is that a white man can only take so many clothes off then he changes colour in the sun. Heat aint a problem down here at the mo. We have gotten snow down to sea level today and that is extremely rare. And even onto the drift wood. But our cat wasn't sure what to make of the white stuff.

Our heat wave started in late May and has been hot basically ever since with only a few days below the mid 90's and several in a row over 100. We are also in year 4 of a drought. So gardening here has been difficult. And to add to it I received 2 tenths of rain and 6 inches of hail on May 24th. And basically had to start over. It really hurt the size of my garlic and short and intermediate day onions. I have been slow to replant waiting for signs of some more normal temps. I have finally finished planting my late season beans ect. Transplanted some late tomatoes into containers I can move into the lean to greenhouse before frost. All of the gardens around here have been hurt by the drought, heat and wind. Makes us enjoy the good years more. Jay

Today was the 23rd consecutive day where the temp was in the triple digits. That makes 30 total days so far this year. If the rest of the week, and next Sunday, the temps are in triple digits, it will be the 2nd most days, in triple digits. The record was 1980, with 69 total days, and 42 in a row. South Texas got 6 inches of rain, a few days ago, but we got none. That is why I keep asking, or begging, for rain. So far, 3 lakes in west Texas have dried up. Jack, that snow sure is looking good, right about now.

Gidday
Sure looks good alright but aint too good iffin it hangs around for too long.
We had about one and a half inches right down to sea level but most of it has gone now. It did play hell with our transport industry though.

The heat broke it is almost like fall. We did get a bit of rain. The garden is a mess. Gonna pull all but tomatoes and plant for fall.

92 and sunny here. The tomatoes had a good run but looking pretty sad now. If it cools of a little I hope for another flush before frost. Might plant some cilantro in the tub where I did pull out one of the tomatoes.
