Well the timing is interesting. Yesterday the 2nd of August I got a letter from SSA.
It was sent to my lawyer as well.Basically it is saying get your evidence together and send it in to us.Certainly to be expected when they are preparing to hear a case. But this quick when there is up to a two year wait.Remember it was around 6 months ago my lawyer asked for the appeal. However this letter which also came from SSA may explain a few things.
Here is how the second letter was worded.
The Honorable Carl Levin
United States Senator
Dear Senator Levin,
This is in response to your inquiry of July 29, 2011 regarding Kevin Dale Lorentz. We have received a request for hearing and are preparing the file for assignment to an Administrative Law Judge. We will inform you of any developments in the case.If you have further questions about this case , please contact this office.
In the letter to my lawyer and myself they also said that they would review my case to determine if they can make a favorable decision without a hearing. Now again this may not mean a thing but with budget cuts and the economy the way it is this would seem like a logical move so they can save a few bucks by not having a hearing. Never heard of this before but whatever works.
Now I do know all this may not mean much. But what I find interesting is the timing. Just a day before many disabled Americans get SSD payments I get both letters. Also just a few short days ago Senator Levin's office asked about my case.Maybe this is a bit of a sign that things are about to get better maybe not.I have learned not to count on everything a long time ago. But I really do find the timing very very interesting.I should also note the very day Senator Levin's office called is the same as the date of the letter.I think someone got a fire lit under them
