Smallest basket yet - yes, that's a standard size piece of peppermint candy. I may be able to weave a smaller basket, but it'd be a challenge....LOL!

Gerald, this gives me an idea. I have a bamboo tea strainer about that size. Here's a pic on Amazon of one like I have. An Herbal site I frequent says that unlike metal ones, they take a while to dry so pholks sometimes buy more than one.

Good idea, but since the reed (rattan) that I use is manufactured overseas, they treat it with an insecticide - I'd be very hesitant about using a basket to strain any potable liquid....

I wondered about that. PErhaps you'll have to find some local reeds to dry for edible arts.

Like I told my cousin when she asked the same thing - I just use my little brain LOL! She laughed and said "Well, I should be able to do it too!" Seriously, I made an "assistant" (patent pending, LOL) out of a peanut butter jar lid. Drilled 8 small holes to hold the spokes while I start weaving the center. Once I get the center big enough to "lock" the spokes into position, I slide the whole assy from the lid and continue weaving until I get to the size I want, and finish off the rim....Actually easier than working on big baskets....
