Going to watch my Son & DIL run a 5 kilometre race. I guess it's an annual event here, trying to promote exercise and health as a New Year's Resolution. Had I known about it sooner, I might have entered as a walker (usually a shorter course), but I missed the deadline for entries.
Then back home to watch all the concerts on TV and eat bad food (nachos and salsa, pizza, chicken wings).
Laura, your plans sound like a lot of Phun. Don't forget to take pics of the cookies!

It's now next year down here. I have been sitting here finnishing of a large brandy and just finished watching Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton with their 50 show. Boy that Dolly is still as beautiful as she used to be, including her singing.

Blue..I think Your plans sound like a BUNCHA fun... we will be walking today..barring a rain/snow storm... gonna be in the upper 40's and we need too... cause it sounds like we'll be eating COOKIES

DH got us all out to help clean out part of the garage, so our new stuff will Phit. He got himself a workbench and a really cool chair. In order Phor it to Phit I had to get rid of 2 shelves worth of gardening stuff, most of which I no longer use.
The shelves are going into the laundry room, so that his Mother's stuff (she is deceased) can go up onto shelves, which would get the boxes off of the ground.
The really cool part (DRUMROLL PLEASE) is that it is WARM AND SUNNY outside! Yes, we are doing all of this in our shirtsleeves!
It will be 15 degrees next week, which is normal weather, and we are BLESSED that today is warm!!!!!!
Oh, yes! I have ONE! package of home-raised red eyed peas left in the freezer, and a little leftover ham. (Red eyed peas are just like black eyed peas, the only difference is that the dark spot is not as dark. )
That and cornbread will make a SUPER pot of beans on New Years Day!!!!!!!!

Da Honey and I spent a nice quiet evening at home with bellies full of black eyed peas, collard greens and baked ham. We both actually stayed up to see the ball drop, believe it or not! Of course I did have a wee bit of a nap around 7 PM..... Woke up on the 2nd with one of the worst head colds I have had in YEARS. Can't talk at all (that comes and goes, mostly comes), can hardly breathe - had to jack up the O2 some. Da Honey has also gotten this stupid cold, so we're both a sneezy, snotty coughing and grumpy mess. Managed to work on a couple of baskets, off and on - will try to post some pics when they're finished. Hope our Phorum Phamily Pholks all had safe New Years' celebrations, and we pray that everyone will have a wonderful healthy, happy and prosperous 2012....
