Caveman, what's your favourite way to prepare liver? I love it with bacon and onions, or just onions with a side of mashed potatoes and pickled beets. Hubs likes it cut into slivers, breaded and deepfried.

I can phix liver so anyone likes it That's a purty strong comment ..isn't it? Try this for your reluctant liver eaters.. Liver with apples and onion
Ingredients: Liver of your choice (beef works best with this recipe) (cut into thin slices about a 1/4 inch or less) apple (cut into thin slices about a 1/4 inch or less) onions (cut into thin slices about a 1/4 inch or less) cooking oil (canola, olive yer choice) salt pepper garlic balsamic vinegar add a Tablespoon of oil to pan... lightly salt and sweat onions and apple till almost translucent Add Garlic to onions and apples and sauté an additional 2 minutes De-glaze pan with 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar... add Liver and brown ... adjust seasonings serve over tators or rice..or all by itself... That's it..makes liver eaters outa non-liver phans

Phil, that's sounds Amazing! TY for posting that recipe.
Rita, We never had liver when I was growing up. Consequently, I wouldn't go anywhere near Liver or Beets until I was about 35. A girlfriend and I were out shopping and stopped for lunch. Liver, bacon and Onions was the Lunch special. It smelled sooooo good as the waitress served the other patrons that I just had to try it. I was hooked! Still won't eat beets if they aren't pickled though.

I love liver, don't have it often, as no one else likes it. I wish we could get fresh liver and not frozen. Beef and chicken is best for me. I batter and fry liver, remove from pan. Cook onions make gravy and add back liver. serve with rice or mashed potatoes. Cavy, like your recipe, thanks man. CF

@ Rita... you'd LOVE it Sis Thanks Blue... I think the major problem pholks have with liver is that it's so "dense" cutting it into thin strips..almost julienne...eliminates the "mass" the apple and balsamic vinegar+sweating the onions ..adds a great flavor..not sweet..just flavored nicely
