I know this is probably out of place, maybe it needs to be moved? I don't see a better recipe section. Anyway I was surfing and found this recipe: You take a whole can of black beans, juice and all and blend them til liquid. Mix that into the dry ingredients in a box of brownie mix, stir and bake. That's it. Sounds crazy, maybe that's why it appealed to me, lol. I made them last night, not bad. Low-ER in fat without the oil called for, no egg so lower cholesterol too.

I think we may have to try this. I have been walking a fast lap at work to help with some weight loss. Mind you the building is over 650,000 sq. ft & I give myself 15 minutes to walk it. Today was 15. But the brownies sound yummy! Thanks for the idea!! ;D

Update: the brownies were tasted, cooled, and put in a box. Yesterday they were reeely moist, ate a couple but I'm concerned about them being that wet, I might have to refrigerate them to retard spoilage or maybe I'll just eat them all, lol.

O.K. I made these today & Phil being watchful over salt & other things..noticed that there were 400 mg. of salt per serving in the black beans. That is 1400 mg of salt per can. So I rinsed them & added water to the can to even out the moisture that I got rid of during the rinse. I threw them in the blender & mixed them in the brownie mix & baked them. I agree they are very moist but tasty. We like them. Next we will find a recipe for sauerkraut cake. As we have 10 pints & a quart that are in need of us eating them. You dont know there are beans in the brownies at all. I say try them.

ok, so I actually had these for the first time this weekend... I gotta admit...... I'm not a fan. Sorry guys. I was really only able to finish it 'cause it had a scoop of ice cream on top of it. Yeah, I think I'll keep my beans in soup, burgers, and tacos - and leave the brownies alone. oh well.

Good point about the salt Laura. I didn't think of that. The oil and eggs left out have hardly any sodium. Most commercial canned goods are full of salt. Since I don't add salt to food I can really taste, usually.
