Endurance in animals is something that continually impresses me. How can a penguin sit on ice, below freezing, with an egg or hatchling on it's feet for 5 MONTHS and not eat a speck of food in that time? I get crazy-hungry in 6 hours! No way would I last a day as a penguin. It's humbling what many animals can do.

w8in~ According to the map they're already IN parts of Michigan. Time to put up those feeders soon. I put mine up with only a little liquid in them yesterday. I have a new post for them to hang on so have to devise something to foil the ants. The ants don't eat much but track in mold spores that turn the feed liquid cloudy.

hummingbirds are still here.. mid/late september,, sometimes they are gone in oct, other times I still see them in dec, Maybe depends on the weather we are having here in the Dallas area?? I would love to see them year round. Right Now I have two adults and a juvie coming daily.
