I have a planter with rosemary thyme and sage in it ... Are any of these perennial ? Because the Sage for sure looks dead the rosemary looks like it should be dead and the thyme looks OK but doesn't look the healthiest ..

Mine was pretty big .. I am assuming I can strip the needles off it as they are dry and still use them still way fresher than anything you could buy at the store

I tend to over water plants in containers but if I pay it no attention it usually gets pretty big

Rosemary is perennial. , I have a Rosemary bush that I planted 5 years ago and it is still doing good, even through the drought we had been going thru, and the 12" of snow we had a couple of years ago. This will be the first year for Tyme and Sage. Hoping it will do as well.

My sage and thyme always do great. Takes a little bit for the sage to come back though after the winter. You can promote new growth on your sage by trimming it up a little bit in early spring. That seems to have done the trick for mine - and I suspect your winters there are a little harsher than here. Rosemary... no such luck. I've tried it a couple different ways (even covering it) and it hasn't stood up to our Michigan winters. I brought it in one year and it had a bunch of white flies on it - which makes the foliage gooey - so I pitched it I dunno, maybe if I constructed a small little greenhouse box just for that plant, and then put it over it during the winter, it might survive. We'll see! p.s. I just noticed you said you had your thyme and sage in a planter. I've got mine in the ground. Maybe give that a go?

Ahhh just did some reading and its a perennial in frost free areas Sooo Beings I didn't bring it in for the winter I will be having to get another one and make sure I get it in for the winter Yes I like to grow it in a container with the sage and thyme so we have a nice full little container .. and also it makes it easy to harvest when you want a little fresh herb .. the thyme likes to be bound up

Rosemary will over-winter here in z7 if you don't water it in the winter. Sage is perennial. I don't grow thyme so don't know but I think it has a lot of varieties, maybe one could be long-lasting for you.

we phound significant growth on our sage, thyme and French tarragon yesterday when we cleaned the herb beds.. Not many things actually dies off this last winter...but then, it wasn't much of a winter compared to most
