Hope You get it figured or it rains Wendy...what is/was your contingency plan.
Like I've said before...the ONLY sound better than your well pump kicking on... is the sound of it kicking back off....
How deep is your well ? Ours is 276 feet deep here...
It rained 3/4 of an inch yesterday...a slow beautiful rain...

Sounds like we all could use the rain. Houston got 12 inches one day last week. We sure could have used some of that.

Our well is 27 ft deep, our friend stopped by tonight , he knows about wells, he said there may be some water down there, I have a bunch of flowers around the well casing .. Guess they will get damaged so I thought I'd cut the blackeyed susans down.. Other than that no real plan. I will go to friends house to shower.. I thought about signing up for culligan man LOL .. At least we would get some delivered I just hope our buddy can help us out. If it is the pump, our buddy said he has one, if it is the well we will see what he can do. The creek beside us is dry, I have lived here 20 plus years and have never seen it dry.. It seems to rain all around us ... We got 2/10's then a trace all day ... I will look up HAARP machines

Well Fill seeing as we have this thing called the internet I have decided the I should use it to keep up with all the evil that is philling this rotten old world of ours. Besides, what's the point of prepping iffin you don't know what you are prepping for? I remember when I was a boy in 1946 and our well went dry. My father had to use the horse and sledge to bring a couple of drums of water up to the house from a creek about 3 or 400 yards down the hill. Then later he set a copper in an old 44gallon drum down by the creek so that my mother could boil up water to wash my sister's daipers with. Drought can be real drpressing.

Drought can be real depressing. Know what you mean, we went through one last year. You cant believe how dry it was. our well also went dry 300" deep, and our farm pond dried up and it holds 14 acre feet of water. Thats 14 acres under a foot of water. We have very large oak trees dead every where. Here where our house is we have lost 27 large oak. W8, hope they can get your well going again. CF

Well noone has showed up as of yet, I took my cell with me and , took my grandson home, (I am sleep deprived) and noone called or texted me. Hubbs must of turned the pump on , I was able to flush the toity, I can get the water to run a bit but then it sucks air again.. So I won't use it , I don't know if he ment to turn it back on or what.. Well ChileFarmer , I try not to be depressed about it, I know there is no going to the creek, because it is dry. It has been raining all around us, we really didn't get to much. But maby thats why there is a lil water down there. Just hope Daves buddy can get here to see what we really should do. If anything. He may be w8in4dave to get home. Or he totally forgot, He was going to slaughter some pigs today also , so I don't know and I ain't buggin him....

Jack...I just don't have the time to study such things... until I catch a tip like this...then I study..so thanks for the tip But as far as "prepping" I am not a prepper...I have many friends and Phamily here that is... We are always way more prepared for anything than most these city slickers...and even some of the "preppers" We always have preserved foods But...whenever the end comes...I know that I...have survival skills...and will make it...I pheel quite confident that it'll be long past my expiration date... so I concentrate on the present.... worried about the future to no avail...all my life

So my plan of action is filling water bottles just in case we run out of water again. I can fill them ever so slowly. Trickle or drip at a time ... I waste no water , believe me this is a lesson learned! I will keep a few gallons of water on hand all the time.. Well we did have a few I will have a few more. Only thing is we cannot handle saving to much water in the winter months, we do not have a huge house .. but a few I can save. I am a prepper to some extent, of course I can and pickle and do as much as I can to help preserve foods we have grown for the winter months, but other than that we have a freezer and yes we could probably live with what we have for about 6 months. except water , we run out of water and that is it. only a few gallons will last a few days.. How do you keep water? can it? LOL

Just curious what happened with the well. My parents live on a hill. With 5 or six houses at the same elevation as them. My parents well is at least double the depth of any of the neighbors. My father fills up with 100 gallons of water for work on average every other day. After the first couple of years filling up he found that his water was turning cloudy after heavy usage and when a toilet stuck and run all day. We ended up getting 2-50 gallon drums and a toilet float type of system that would slowly fill the drums up in about 24 hours. This really helped out. 2 winters ago they had company for a week and on the last day again the water became cloudy and eventually ran dry. So they simply became more conscious of the usage and purchased a beach house that they visit every weekend so the water is given 3 days of no use every week and had less problems. This year they had company for a few days and Christmas dinner. And by the end of the evening again no water. My great uncle had mentioned keeping some water in reserve to pour in the well when they run out. I am not sure if it is prevent the well from drying up almost like lubrication or a underground siphon of some sort. One of my customers is a commercial plumber and he always says "its expensive they may not find water". But when we talk about the dirty water when it runs dry he say that is bad. I think it clogs the veins in the aquapher and damages the equipment. You never mention any discolored water. And if that's the case maybe not a water issue and more of an equipment issue. The other thing I noticed is you said your well was only 27 feet deep. Could you find water above ground?

Michael our well is only 27ft deep, We had a problem one other time in our 25 years of living here, with the lack of rain we have had pffttt! What happened was my hubs usually would water the garden 15 minutes.. let it rest then half hr later water for another 15 minutes. One night he forgot to turn the hose off!! We were out for a few days, it still is not up to par!! It will run cloudy after a while (I assume thats calcium) We have enuf water to shower, dishes and cooking. I go to the laundry mat to do laundry, we have had a few tens of water since the whole thing went on, hopefully we will get more rain soon!! This weeks high 80's possibility of rain monday..It seems to go around us.. pffttt!

How's the well issue? We just had to dig a new one because for some reason dirt was getting in ours and we couldn't figure out why. It was 120 feet and the new one is 180 feet deep. We get 25 gallons a minute now.

Yep that's what the well man told us. He said it was enough for 3 wells. We had to put a pressure reducing valve (or something like that) somewhere in the well house.

I love the water pressure!!!!
But they made the biggest mess and just left it. They dug one well and got gritty water, 140 feet, and just left it open and left a big pile of dirt that turned to mud in the yard. At the new well site they left another gigantic pile of dirt and didn't fill in where they ran pipe. So when we got the first bill my husband called and told the situation and was told that "we don't clean up after ourselves." So we just hung onto that bill. When we got another one, I sat down and wrote a letter stating that they left 140 foot hole in our yard that is dangerous not to mention the other mess. We intend to pay this bill but are waiting until we can figure out who we need to contact about this open well to find out the correct way to safely fill it. We got a call back and today 2 trucks, a bobcat, a cement truck and 3 or 4 men showed up with an inspector. They spread out and raked the piles of dirt and filled the open well with 3 yards of cement. I handed the owner a check when they were through.
My husband is a plumber and if he left holes in a yard and piles of dirt people would never call him back and probably would report him to someone. It's ridiculous to say "we don't clean up after ourselves."
