I am growing some big pumpkins this year along with my smaller ones that my chickens love to eat, wow you talk about making some orange yolks.

I LOVE watching chickens fight over pumpkin chunks we chopped the big ones after the weigh off..and canned a BUNCH...the rest was chickened... How many chickens do you have NJM

After a few times replanting, they finally came up now if I can keep them going weather has been strange at my place

Out of 2 hills, 3 came up in one so I took one replanted it in in the other hill in hopes to have two plants going

My pumpkins cam up from our pumpkin seeds we thru in the garden last year hehehe yup so we kinda pulled the smaller plants out and kept some bigger ones We will see what happens ....

I'm doin' pie punkins this year. Nuthin big. How can I keep voles away? worx about da best Barriers is the only way that works to keep them away...they sure make funny looking trails in your turf... Did ya know that they also work on your turf during the winter..under the snow? Voles and Moles are tuff thangs to deal with Wrennie

Well, my pumpkin plants are starting to get a few leaves, 5-6 so far, and the stumps are starting to thicken up some I thinned them out to one plant per hill, and transplanted one in my wife's garden to see what happens pics coming soon Who needs Big pumpkins .com when you have Pharmer Phils site to post pics

OK, here"s an update on my pumpkin plants This one is on it"s 5th leaf This one came from the same hill as the first one seeing nothing came up seems to be doing well so far This one also was taken out of the first hill transplanted in my wifes garden We fenced it in seeing we have little feet following behind grandma ;D

Used a watering can, and gave my plants a soaking with sevin This is what to look for and to eliminate if you want to have success in keeping your squash and pumpkins alive They will go after: Zucchini squash Acorn squash Summer squash Hubbard squash Gourd plants Scallop squash All pumpkin plants Anything related to these squash. Butternut squash they never seem to mess with.

This thing was a type of squash pumpkin I saved the seed from, but me thinks it may have crossed pollinated with a Atlantic giant last year, we shall see what happens
