Well that was posted in the wrong spot... not that it isn't nice , I am just sayin... well you get my drift!! Anyhoo we had burgers last night , I forgot lettuce and tomatos so hubbs wanted some Cukes on his! Pretty cool!! He also had some Cheesy fries from Schwans I had some hamburger soup left over from the day b4 , It was kinda thick so I poured it over my burger!! All those veggies in the soup!! OMG can you say to die for?? So I am not sure for tonight! I have to go to the veggie stand and get some summer squash and zucc and cook with potatoes in the oven .. Maby some pork chops and put some nice favored cheese and seasonings on top .. Hmm sounds like I'd better get to the veggie market

Made ceviche. Catfish (Swai),canned oysters, squid, fake crab, red and white onion, dried cilantro, diced tomatoes.Cover with lime juice, sit at least 24 hours in fridge to 'cook' it,yumm!!!!Usually I add tomato juice when done, but eating it so fast its a moot point this time.Eat it cold. Hey,that Swai (Asian catfish) is good stuff.you wouldnt believe how well its packed,if its a reflection on how its raised its clean fish.Big debate on it,do your research, its Aces in my book.No pacific fish for me,radiation doesnt go in my Diet,Thank You Japan and nuclear power for that. While we are still being irradiated,no news blackout continues.

We had crab on Tue. And Clams last night. Ruth and I went down to Tuckerton and bought the sea food. They have great clams and blue crabs. Ruth got a great buy on the crabs two dozen for $20.00, that's usually the price for one dozen. We steamed the crabs as soon as we got home and sat and picked and drank beer till 7:00PM and then I had to take a rest. We baked the clams yesterday and finished them off 50 in all. All in all it's been a great summer, and as soon as the bennies go home after this weekend it will be much better.
We are planing a trip to Maryland's eastern shore next week to visit family and enjoy some Maryland crab cakes, and Oysters. Then we are planing on going down to Virginia to look at some homes there.

Today we are making clam chowder and clams oreganata, the chowder for canning. The oreganada we can freeze. If there is time we may make clams and spaghetti.
I know that's a lot of clams. We went out the other day and bought 300 clams at a whole sale place near us. So we need to store for the winter.

It's it worth it though. We now have clams made three different ways. Next thing is getting some Striped Bass for the freezer, they are starting to run now. Ruth and I hit the inlet to fish for them in the morning and again in the evening.

I had a turkey burger instead. And the squash that was in my "Canned Tomatoes" pic. OMG to die for!! Sounds good. I accidentally forgot to put the meat on my burgers once and it was still yummy! So now Im making little thin patties, still get the great beef flavor but cuts the costs and calories without cutting the burger flavor at all. I understand some might like a giant patty and not much else.I Like mine with a bit of mustard,a light smear of mayo, lettuce, onion, pickle, tomato, maybe cheese, maybe ketchup (depends on how juicy maters are)....get all the goodies on really doesnt take much meat to finish it off. Last week made the patties in a pan and well cooked em in their juices, loaded up with above plus a strip of bacon cut in half, lightly toasted buns (almost always toast buns in toaster oven) OMG,that burger was juicy and to die for,Mrs says she has never had a better burger,it was outrageously good. And when you get down to it was more veggie than meat.
