don't tell her I told you her age. We're having burgers and hot dogs. How much hamburger do I need for 30 people? I'm going to buy 3 packs of hot dogs because I think most of the adults will eat burgers and the children will eat the dogs.

The rule of thumb is 1/2 lb of meat per person , thats including the hot dogs...

Saturday. I'm thinking about letting everyone make their own burger. Johnny, my daughter Ginger, and I like our burgers very thin. I know some people like theirs thick. I don't know how that will work but I might do it.

I did this.take a thin patty, put cheese on top, then cover with a thin patty and pinch edges together. You then cook and wind up with melted cheese in middle, makes a great cheeseburger. That with a McD BigMac homemade version of secret sauce is going to be my go to burger for company feeding.

Happy Birthday to your Mom BestoFour! And I like your idea of letting each fix their own burger. We all like ours different.

I know I like a thin burger! But Dave likes his thick!! I smash mine down so thin!! Because they get thick as you cook them! I don't like cheese or surprises in the middle!! Dave likes all that stuff tho. The more crap in the middle the better for him!! Specially if it is mushrooms and cheese!! I hope the weather is beautiful!! I am sure your party will be lots of fun!! Happy Birthday to your mom!!

Good idea on letting each person make their own burger, or if you want to avoid the possible mess in the kitchen, buy frozen ones and i know up here you can buy both thin and thick.
Happy Birthday to Mom.
Great idea too Spuds!
