Cavey, we to have lots of copper heads here also. And many others. Back in the dark ages when I was young, I to was bitten by a copper head (on my toe). My grandmother, gave it a cut and let it bleed. Then soaked my foot in coal-oil. After that treatment, she mixed sulfur with pine sap and covered the bite with a white rag. I am sure the modern treatments are better. CF

Snakes must be out of control this year. My husband and a friend of ours have been bitten in the last month. My husband had on his work boots and somehow was bitten above his boot.
