Caveman, I do agree with a lot of these points but not so much with others. Through family and friends I've noticed that health issues from chronic headache to skin issues like eczema are either caused by or exacerbated by wheat. It's because wheat ain't what it used to be. Everything is genetically modified.
And because of health issues a few of my family members have suffered I've found that certain types of eating habits will put your body in a state of health and put a person at what their normal weight should be. Due to different health concerns one of my nieces eats an alkaline diet, a nephew eats a paleo diet, and my youngest daughter does what she calls "clean eating." It's a different way of eating for each of these family members (through trial and error) but the health issues have totally gone away. All 3 of these (I call them children but they're married adults) were not over weight to start with but they all lost a little weight and say they feel a lot better being a little bit lighter.
I wonder if back in the no processed foods days if there were fat cowboys.

Pure BS,I dont trust nutritionists as far as I can throw em.Lets make guidlines with zero proof because it sounds right, like eating cholesterol raises your cholesterol, never proven at all. Just an example from the article promoting pesticide safety, sorry, barking up wrong tree here. Its proven our veggies arent nearly as healthy for you as they used to be. =============================================================== Myth: Organic produce packs more nutrients than the conventional kind. The real deal: Although buying organic fruits and veggies helps protect the environment, research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that they have no nutritional advantage over their conventionally grown counterparts. And while the latter contain more chemical residue, no studies have definitively proven that the amount of chemicals we ingest causes any harm: Much of the research linking pesticides with disease was done on farmers who had been exposed to huge quantities, Davis says. Still prefer organic? Spend the extra money on produce that has a peel you eat, such as apples and peaches.

Yea this can get sticky, I guess I don't consider Yahoo a good source. The Organic Produce thing. I do agree it probably does have the same vitamins and minerals as the stuff that is not Organic. But who wants to eat vitamins and minerals with pesticides? With the Wheat and Corn thing, I think so many people get an allergy to it because the put it in so much stuff using it as fillers. So much of the American diet is fillers! I don't think fillers is good for anyone! It's empty calories and junk your body doesn't need and with some cannot tolerate.
