We got about .15 inch of light rain.Just enough to water the plants, which is good.New neighbor wont water the bulbs in his yard,he wants some manly trees I guess.
All we have here is brown dirt, and green on trees,no color. But bulbs in spring light up the mtn in color. So Edith had a showplace of all kinds of different daffy-dills,beauties,and expensive! We are talking REALLY nice daffies. As good as they get. They bloomed and dried out in a few days.Yesterday or so the first tulip bloomed and started drying out, again very expensive and rare colors she planted. No water.
So this little rain is just enough to save the bulbs and give em a bloom the whole street enjoys.
Im sure Edith, who died at 101 years old, brought this rain for her babies. Her yard was/is a blooming showplace.Neighbors small area of red and yellow tulips is very nice in bloom.
Mrs has tried to point out what he has,and has asked if he doesnt want them we will take em,nothing.Just doesnt get it,shame. So he will have dirt and an apple tree, whatever. And struggling bulbs going forward.

As much as I hate to talk about the weather here,I'm compelled to say we got another light dusting of snow last night into the early hours this morning, the temperature is hanging right at 32°. this is one piss poor start to 2014. Doesn't get me in the mood for planting. The coastal storm that brushed by us is whipping up some wind today. Gusts of 30-40 MPH Not very spring like.

Sounds like you guys are up for another big azz snow storm Phil. We have just started the April shower thing since the other day. Showers today and Friday temperatures in the upper 50s and 60s. Things are looking better weather wise. Cleared off some debris from my compost pile yesterday, man is it looking good Black Gold about 20 tons worth. That's getting mixed with the topsoil and blended into the fields, then we are planting the Sudan Grass.

Yea we are cooled off also. In the 50's I think up to 57º today. Really depends on what way the wind blowing if it's off the lake it will be a cool 57º out of the west , a warm 57º believe me it will be windy.

No idea what the temp is here in GA but it was beautiful outside today. Sunny with a little breeze, not hot, not humid except for a little while this morning. I love being here on this lake.

Still windy and 52° right now. It rained pretty heavy last night and we are expecting showers today in the 60s by noon.
At least I got both fields cultivated and ready for tilling, most likely next week if we don't get much more rain ... adding all that heavy top soil and mulch makes the ground hold moisture longer now. With the wind and sun it helps dry things much sooner though.
