We have a neighbor about a mile down the road from us. She and her husband have been so generous with their home eggs. We all love those big brown home eggs. They have been giving them to us all winter. She sent me a message today, I went down and she gave us 30. Plus she gave us a lot of cartons of milk (white, strawberry, and chocolate) and orange juice. Her husband works at school and brings it home when they are going to throw it out. She said it is good and they had plenty and didn't want it to go to waste. We kept some, gave mom some and my neice's family some. So thankful for people like her to help us out.

Lucy, now that is a good neighbor. Here in Texas what ever is left on the trays at school lunch has to be thrown away. Can not be taken home. Can not even keep scraps for animal feed. Carton drinks unopened have to be thrown away also. What a waste. CF

When I worked at the hospital- you wouldn't believe the waste that goes on... PACKAGED foods never touched- thrown away...trays for discharged patients that never left the cart, but because it left the kitchen- it was thrown away...drove me NUTS! I hate waste... So glad you have such an awesome neighbor!

Gotta Love neighbors like that! We have a good neighbor on one side and a jerk on the other. some times I wish we could turn our house around so we can face the good neighbors! LOL I hate waste also! It kills me when my daughter and I go out to eat with her kids and the food they waste! Kids will take a few bites and then done! I make her pack it up and I will feed it to Dave or the dog. But if it was up to her she never takes home left overs! It goes in the garbage! I tell her she's never gone hungry or she'd take it home!

That's what I tell my kids... they say I am a food hoarder because I have so much canned and nonperishable food stored. I tell them at least we won't go hungry lol The oldest appreciates me having so much because when she is strapped for cash, I send her a "care package" of food

Nothing like good neighbors. There is only us and 1 old neighbor left, rest died or moved off, weve been lucky tho. New guy on right is quiet with a nice teenage son,to the left got a very nice young couple with 2 little ones and his Mom,they are getting chickens,so good neighbors, very nice.Across street in other neighbors they left, their son and his wife and 2 little ones moved in,also great young folks.
We got so lucky in the neighbor sweepstakes.Surrounded by good people.
