Our high today is 22°. It's not very windy right now so hopefully it's not really below 22 out there because I have to go out. Supposed to be 60° Sunday.
Cavie, have your pipes frozen? Will they thaw with a hair dryer?

.hey Phil....close yer damned frig door. Hey...What You laffin' bout Miss Penny squint was -21° here yesterday...-7° now..with the windchill..-16° with snow..sucks...reckon once the snow slows down...I'll be out there Sounds like it's bad enough on Ya Cavey...,most pholks in these parts have, over the years really bucked up their insulation because of the length of time you'd be frozen here could be months... I know back in Missouri, ifin things froze everywhere..one neighbor would take his or her salamander, torpedo, heat dragon...what ever this is called in yer neck of the woods.. around to all the neighbors they open up a spot in the crawl space and nose the thang in... Then keep watch, visit with the neighbor and have coffee (or sumpin to keep ya from freezin) Did Ya see we made national news? Up Nort..above Duluth, -42 yesterday...and that is NOT a windchill number Other surrounding towns are listed in this link.. Check It Out BIG CHILL: Minnesota claims lowest temperature in the nationStay Warm Cavey, and everyone...spring, although getting closer..seems very far away today

Years ago I had frozen pipe. Husband knew it all and refused to let me close air hole under the house on the north. 20 below and it would freeze the pipe. I had to thaw. Vacuum hose put on the reverse and stuck it to pipe where froze. Slow but did it. Have jugs of water. Niece in OK was putting bags of leaves to the house. Another lady on another forum was using bales of hay/s the pipes are deep and meter under the house to prevent freezing.
Down home when had the hole dug under the house I put insulation any where I could reach and pipe insulation on pipes I could. No crawl space. After husband died I did shut the air holes off and no more frozen pipe. Later I insulated all I could.
Yes, I under stand you are not having normal weather. Sorry you are having it. Cold here early on, warmer than normal now and no snow here.
