A screamin deal in Hawaii Shopsmith and attachments - $1000 (Molokai) Mark 5 Shopsmith complete with Table saw table and fence, Jigsaw, Bandsaw, disc grinder, jointer/planer and numerous small attachments such as dust collection hood for saw, etc. There is even a guide book to teach you how to use the different attachments (although they are pretty easy to figure out). It even works as a horizontal borer and raises up vertical to become a drill press. This is a great all in one tool that I bought about five years ago. It is older, but these machines haven't changed much in more than 30 years. When you have something that works why change it... and work they do. One of the greatest things about this tool is the precision machine work that went into it. When you loosen an attachment and pull the drive coupler from the shaft it actually makes a popping sound from the vacuum created. All the attachments are installed and removed with a single allen head wrench. I have used this tool for numerous projects both big and small. I replaced the motor once, not because it needed it, but because I got a new motor at a yard sale and just decided to do it. I have been using it almost daily for the last couple of years making high end pens (a job it does very well). The only thing wrong with it is the caster wheels wore out and will have to be replaced. New units go for between $3,379 and $3,679 for the bare bones power head and frame (go to www.shopsmith.com/markvsite/purchaseNB.htm and check it out). If you have a small shop, but big ideas and plans this is the machine for you. I have a new machine so it is time to pass it along to someone that will use and appreciate all it can do. It's a steal at $1,000.00 Call Larry at show contact info Before 5 pm leave a message. Between 5pm and 10 pm you'll get a real person. Price is firm. Machine is great!

Had a Shop Smith for a while....got a really good deal on it, but found that I was getting tired of changing everything around every time I want to use it for a different application. Ended up leaving it in Drill press mode most of the time.
This rig looks like it's for some one in an apartment, that buys plans and wants to do DYI your self projects...and doesn't have the room for real tools.
Don't consider it a real tool......But cool.
