Well have a new house in Stryker OH and we have a little over half an acre to work with. So plans are already under way for our biggest garden ever. So what is on the list ? well lots of great tomatoes and Peppers for starters. They have always been a part of the back bone of the family garden. Also there will be some great melons ,pumpkins, winter squash, greens , beans and peas. It won't stop there. several berries will be planted too along with some fruit trees and some great flower beds and herbs. Got our work cut out for us but it will be well worth it. Oh almost forgot potatoes, corn, cucumbers , asparagus, garlic and onions along with other root crops.

Thanks Penny. This garden will be big enough to plant about twenty hills of pumpkin and winter squash. If the pumpkin harvest is good enough I would love to give some to kids who's families have a hard time getting pumpkins for Halloween . This would be fun for the kids cuz I will have several varieties of all sizes plus some of the warted types.
Tomatoes will be something special too. I am going to bring back every variety I grew in Frontier Michigan plus several others that I have yet to grow. And that is only part of the great things that will be growing here.

I'd like to have that kind of room too Kevin..oh, we do, but wouldn't allow Us to raise a variety..I always loved raising pumpkins..Giants..and lil ones for the kids..even If I raised 4 tons of marketable pumpkins..That quantity wouldn't make me as proud as or as happy as a couple a hundred Jack "o" Lantern types that I'd give the Kids..Good Man Kevin..Onward and Upward Bro tky

Hope to have around 4 or 5 Jack O Lantern types. A small one like Orange Smoothie would be great for the wee ones.Hope to have Phat Jack and Cronus which go up to 60 pounds and have nice thick stems. Old fav Howden will be out there too along with Winter Luxury and French heirlooms everyone should know on site and Long Island Cheese.Oh yeah gotta have Kabacha Squash.

And then there is picking out tomatoes and peppers. Pumpkins are hard enough to pick out but look at all the tomatoes and peppers out there these days . With seeds coming to the US every year it is hard to keep up. But to simplify things I am going to go with the ones that did so well for me in Michigan plus ones I wanted to back then. And just few new ones. Tomatoes: Al-Kuffa Brandywine ( in it's various strains ) Anyone have Cowlick's ? Rose Stump of the World Earl's Faux Mariana's Peace Giant Italian Paste Guido Gary O'Seana Indian Stripe Costoluto Genovese Amazon Chocolate Paul Robeson Kellogg's Breakfast JD's Special Ctex Cour D Bue Black Krim Black from Tula Black Cherry Thessaloníki Cherokee Purple Hoy Terhune Hows that for starters?

Thanks Wendy.Plan behind such a large endeavor is to have some for canning as well as fresh eating. Also if we have extras I told our pastor that we would bring some to church for folks who don't have gardens or can't afford produce.

Great list so far Kevin!! One of these days I need to sort my "stash" and figure out what I've got and what I need. This year was probably the worst growing year I've ever had shake, too much rain, cold temps, blight...you name it my garden had it, thankfully I harvested some seeds before it all went to pot, but by doing that, I really didn't get to eat much!!
