SSE. They have a discounted membership for folks on a fixed income.Doing this IMO would likely open up a new realm of possibilities for getting different types of veggies, herbs and flowers from around the world.

Kevin I was a member back in 98...at that time there was no significant advantage..free farm tour is what I remember, hopefully by now they have given more benefits to members..We're about 100 miles from Decorah, Iowa..so a farm visit now would be a couple hour drive in farm country

Considering being the big word...............they now let you look at the listings ( still can't order). 4.00 a pack? ?? Really? The only way I pay that much is if the seed count is above above average ( Franchi Seeds)or it is really really new or very rare and worth planting. Yes they offer a 10% discount on your order. But between Sample Seed Shop,Baker Creek and Tatiana's Tomato base I can save that and more on varieties like Abe Lincoln or 1884 etc. The only advantage I see here is if something really rare pops up that nobody has. In my view because of the membership fee they should give a few packets away ( member choice)and not charge so much for common varieties. Kind of like going to Disney Land. You pay a big fee for admission then when you get in the gate pay a high price for collectibles and food.
